P1120626I’m heading to the UK tonight, so I decided to start my British-themed activities right here in New York – with a trip to 10 Downing Street.

As you know, in London, 10 Downing Street is an immaculate building in Westminster where the Prime Minister lives. While I’ve never been inside, I used to visit regularly when I interned at the Press Association a few years ago. I’d be sent there to collect tapes before running back to the office with barely a moment to wave at Gordon inside. Tonight, I continued my very hurried relationship with the place with a quick visit to its New York counterpart.P1120632P1120627 P1120628

Similarly to London, No. 10 is in one of the smartest spots of Manhattan – Greenwich Village. But while I had read online that there was a Union flag outside in a nod to Britain, there was no such thing in sight. Instead, I snapped away before taking a really bad selfie.P1120631

While there are no PMs living at this building (that I’m aware of), it is used as a housing block, with a hair salon on its ground level. It’s pretty nondescript and not half as cute as the buildings on surrounding streets but, ya know, it was nice to have a laugh at the reference.P1120630
