Last week was a little thrown because, for the first time in forever, I was ill. It might have got me a day of back-to-back Gilmore Girls episodes, but it generally wasn’t very fun. So I’ve not been having as many adventures as usual, but I still managed to appreciate some of New York’s treats, like:
1 :: How it’s getting lighter in the mornings! This means that on my 6.30am ride to the office, the skyline is now even more amazing than usual – because it looks green! Every morning, I gawk out of the window and take a bazillion pictures, and that sight never gets old.
2 :: Museum trips on drizzly days. And brilliant museums, at that.
3 :: Valentine’s soup. This was a bowl of delicious pink cauliflower soup from our favorite cafe.
4 :: This new Keith Haring sculpture. It’s around the other side of my work building (you can see it on the corner of St Marks/8th Street and 3rd Avenue), so a few weeks after it moved in, I’ve only just spotted it. Oops.
5 :: This hunky band at Rock Shop. Ryan’s George Strait tribute band, Strait Up, played a great show at this Brooklyn music venue on Thursday, followed by a performance from Kimberly Clark (top picture) and then a Dolly Parton Tribute band. So, so fun.
6 :: This beer name at Great Bar Harry.
7 :: Delicious vegetarian banh mi from Xe May Sandwich Shop in the East Village. Such a winner every time.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and stay warm in the cold this week!

New York is wonderful!

🙂
You still managed more than most people do normally! Hope, you are feeling better x
So much better, thanks!
I have massive banh mi envy right now… and also wishing I was back there in the snow instead of the summer we have going on in Melbourne! Gorgeous shot, that last one!
Haha, we will happily take your sunshine, and you can have our snow 🙂
Just came across your site and I love this idea 😀 I still have yet to see that Keith Herring statue myself and I am excited about the days getting longer! Yay for more sunshine 😀
I know! It makes all the difference — yesterday I left work when it was still light outside and I felt like I was sneaking out early! Amazing.
spring is an optimistic time with more daylight every day. Loved the foodie pictures. I think you need to get something though that puts you in the picture – a stuffed panda or something that you put in the picture representing you. what do you think?
Haha, I like it!
