Hear hear, who knows what a listening party is? Well, tonight I found out. You sit in a bar, drink far too many cocktails and celebrate new music. In this case – Dylan’s.

Okay, okay, so this ‘new thing’ feels like I’m cheating a little bit. But I’d never been to a listening party before.

Dylan (under the guise of Swampboots) is about to release his second EP, Lessons in Hunger, and ahead of the offical launch he held a listening party at Von Bar on Bleecker Street tonight.

We sipped delicious whisky cocktails courtesy of Templeton Rye while enjoying his six new tracks, which are due out next month, alongside some of his favourite music. And although I’ve heard his songs a gazillion times before, they sounded great turned right up. And everyone else seemed to enjoy them too.
