New York City obviously has lots of exclusive spots. Among them is SoHo House – a members-only club for the media with bars, rooms, a gym and a roof deck pool with stunning views over the Meatpacking District and to south Manhattan. And for some reason they allowed MailOnline to throw our Christmas party there tonight.
I feel like this could be cheating a little, as it was merely my Christmas party, but since arriving in New York, SoHo House is a name I’ve heard – and a place I never actually thought I’d go. When I arrived, it was surprisingly casual, with many of my co-workers in gorgeous dresses but not too-high heels. There’s even a rule that men can’t wear ties.
Because I was served glass after glass of pinot grigio, I didn’t take very many helpful photographs, but our party was held in the Library – a windowless room lined with ancient book shelves and a long bar.
Apart from scores of merry Mail employees, it was also dotted with leather sofas – and then there was the star of the show – the gif photo booth. Hours of fun.
After being treated to the flawless service, delicious white wine and relaxed ambience of the library, a few of us headed to the roof to check out the views. It would be amazing to be here in the summer – swimming laps and sipping cocktails while overlooking the skyline.
I don’t think it’ll be happening for me though. But it was great to be treated for a night and check out this little corner of luxury.
